SHIPMENT OF GOODS

• Glen carriers arranges the shipment of goods using air, sea and road and multiple parties are involved to facilitate the safe and secure shipping. Glen Carriers is not responsible for any items damaged during storage, transit, or transportation and to protect your interests from the damaged goods, customer is advised to obtain insurance cover. You may contact us for the details about the cover, costs and the terms and conditions as it is provided by external providers.
• All information disclosed by the customer is accurate and true.
• Customers giving erroneous information will have to bear charges for correction at destination.
• Please find a list of items we do not allow to be shipped and will confiscate if found and notify the relevant authorities:
  Hazardous substances
  • Alcohol
  • Ammunition (excluding lead pellets and other airgun and airsoft projectiles)
  • Asbestos
  • Balance Boards  (including Hoverboards, electric scooters, electric bicycles and all battery powered vehicles and equipment (UN3171))
  • Balloons filled with non-flammable gases
  • Batteries including those sent with/without or connected to an electronic device
  • Biological substances (Category B) (diagnostic specimens including urine, faeces, livestock and equine semen collection and animal remains)
  • Christmas crackers – see Explosives for cracker snaps when not part of a made-up cracker
  • Clinical and medical waste (e.g. contaminated dressings, bandages and needles)
  • Controlled drugs and narcotics (such as cannabis, cocaine, heroin, LSD, opium and amyl nitrate)
  • Corrosives (including aluminium chloride, caustic soda, corrosive cleaning fluid, dyes, acids, corrosive paint and rust removers, mercury and gallium metal)
  • Counterfeit currency, bank notes and postage stamps (except copies of old denominations, which are now obsolete and worthless except for collectable value and cannot be passed as tender)
  • DNA samples (limited to saliva swabs and samples)
  • Dry ice and liquid Nitrogen (For example Dry ice and liquid Nitrogen UN1845 when used as a coolant for UN3373 or for other perishable items.)
  • Electronic cigarettes
  • Electronic devices sent with or containing batteries (including mobile phones, digital cameras, etc) see Batteries
  • Environmentally hazardous substances
  • Environmental waste (including used batteries and used engine oil)
  • Explosives (including fireworks, flares, blasting caps, party poppers, Cracker snaps)
  • Flammable liquids (including petroleum, lighter fluid, certain adhesives, solvent-based paints, wood varnish, enamels, acetone and all nail varnish removers also see; Alcoholic beverages, Perfumes and aftershaves and Nail varnish)
  • Flammable solids (including magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, sodium, zinc powder, sparklers and fire lighters)
  • Frozen water (including packs of ice)
  • Gases, including flammable, non-flammable, toxic and compressed gases (including new, used and empty gas cylinders, ethane, butane, refills for lighters, fire extinguishers and scuba tanks, life jackets, nitrogen dioxide and carbon dioxide canisters including culinary foaming devices & soda stream)
  • Goods made in foreign prisons (except those imported for a non-commercial purpose, of a kind not manufactured in the UK, or those in transit)
  • Guns for sporting use
  • Human or animal ashes
  • Infectious substances and pathogens (UN2814 or UN2900)
  • Lighters and refills containing flammable liquid or gas (including used butane, petrol cigar and cigarette lighters)
  • Lighters – empty, new or unused
  • Liquids not classified as dangerous goods
  • Live creatures, insects and invertebrates
  • Lottery tickets
  • Magnetised material
  • Matches (including safety matches and windproof matches)
  • Nail varnish, polish or gel (solvent and water-based)
  • Obscene publications and unlawful indecent images
  • Oxidising materials or organic peroxides (including disinfectants, nitrates and hair dyes or colourants containing peroxide)
  • Paints, wood varnishes and enamels
  • Patient Specimens
  • Perfumes and aftershaves (including: Reed diffusers; body sprays; room fragrance sprays (non-Aerosols only); essential oils; eau de parfum and eau de toilette but excluding non-flammable perfumed creams, gels oils or lotions)
  • Perishable items (including flowers, fresh fruit, vegetables and frozen or chilled foodstuffs)
  • Pesticides (e.g. weed killer and any chemical used to kill pests and insects including fly sprays)
  • Poisons, toxic liquids, solids and gases (including substances that are liable to cause death or injury if swallowed or inhaled or by skin contact, including arsenic, cyanide, fluorine, rat poison)
  • Prescription medicines and drugs sent for scientific or medical purposes
  • Radioactive materials and samples
  • Sharp objects (including knives, kitchen utensils and gardening tools)
  • Tickets and related advertisements for illegal lotteries
  • Vaccines
  • Waste, dirt, filth or refuse (including household waste)
  • Weapons (including Section 5 firearms, CS gas and pepper sprays, flick knives and other knives that are banned under UK laws, tasers and stun guns)

STORAGE OF GOODS

• Storage of goods over 40 days will be considered as storage goods and may be incurred to storage charges if not mentioned prior to receiving at the Glen Warehouse.
• In the destination sri Lanka goods can only be stored for a maximum of 14 days after arrival to our warehouse and appropriate customer notification is completed charges will be incurred. After which charges may be incurred everyday for unagreed storage of customer goods unless notified and a agreement has been come to.

PAYMENT

• All payments must be paid at the point the invoice is received.
• Payments can be made by cash, card, cheque or online (2.5% charge for credit cards).
• Glen carriers charges for the service It provides as stated on the itemized bill. We are not responsible for any other charges incurred by the customer at destination.

CUSTOMERS USING TNT

• Glen Carriers uses TNT to make bookings on behalf of customers to deliver goods from customer’s site to Glen Carriers warehouse. We are not responsible for goods damaged during transit.
• Bookings can be made only after written instructions by email or post from the customer, please request for a form if needed. We need full authorisation from the shipper/receiver
• If goods are damaged in the custody of TNT, while collecting or delivering or storing, appropriate process needs to be followed as per their terms and conditions which involves the customer to contact TNT
• TNT bookings are advised to be sent by email with the following information:
  • In case of loss or damage customer has to deal with TNT directly
  • We need full authorisation from the customer to make the booking on behalf of the Shipper/Receiver
  • TNT can be booked only by written confirmation – (TNT form)

GLEN COLLECTION BOOKING & CANCELLATION TERMS

• Collections can be arranged by Glen Carriers, please check for availability and prices in your area, in case you submit the quote through website, you will get an email response, which is different from automated response if any.
• Requirements for booking a collection from Glen Carriers:
  • Full address of collection point
  • Parking restrictions/availability in area/land restrictions or apartment stairs/lifts available.
  • No of boxes and estimated weight and dimensions. (Needed to accommodate labour requirements).
• Advise specific Conditions like:
  • Condition A: Ground floor (Floor 1st, 2nd, or above may need lift), free parking, No congestion, Max weight up to 30 Kg. additional charges apply and will be in quote but has to be mentioned by customer.
  • Condition B: Heavy boxes may need equipments & extra labour support – Extra fee apply
• Confirmation of collection will be made via email, confirming collection date & time.
• Once confirmed any changes or cancellations has to be done 48hrs before collection date. Or a cancellation fee will be charged on next collection or box sent.
• From arrival point of driver only 25 min is allocated per customer to complete packing and loading. Any extensions on that there will be a charge: 50p/mins.
• Please complete the drivers note and shipping forms before driver leaves the premises.
• Customers do not pay at point of collection. Payment has to be made after invoice is emailed/posted.
• To facilitate a smooth collection, please provide contact numbers, at least one number is needed with your email.
• Glen Carriers will inform the customer about the Date & the time once its booked via system on website

DOOR TO DOOR – SPECIAL TERMS

• Within Colombo only = £35
• Island wide = £45 – £65 (Depends on the destination)
• Customs taxes will have to be paid by the Shipper/Receiver (if any)
• Box size – Tea carton (16″ X 20″ X 24″ inches) = 4.5 Cu.Ft
• Max. weight per one box = 40 Kg
• No electrical or electronic devises / alcohol, liquor / tobacco / commercial
• Detailed packing list needed (itemised list)

GENERAL TERMS

• Goods will not be released unless payment is received in full.
• Any changes to names and details after arrival of goods at designated lication will be charged at 5.00 pounds per box.
• The name (s) of the consignee (s) must be as per passport / NIC , otherwise the consignee will incur a sri lanka customs penalties.
• Please note that we are not responsible for damages to good not insured. Insurance must be done by the shipper before tha goods are handed over to the glen carriers team.
• Shipper is liable for damages arising from shipment causing damage to other cargo: ie liquid leaks etc.
• Returned cheques ill be charged at 10.00 per cheque.

LIABILITY AND LIMITATION

Glen Carrier’s Liability is limited as per the terms and conditions. Customers are required to agree to the Limitation of Liability as below

• I the undersigned, whose name and address are stated on this packing list, certify that particulars given in this declaration are correct and that this item does not contain any dangerous article or articles prohibited by legislation or by postal or customs regulation.
